They’ve got a bunch of different stuff in this museum. You can go and join there or you can visit with the City Pass, which I recommend. You save about 45%. And they’ve got a bunch of different things that I love to do there.
One is this indoor rainforest. It’s a multi-story dome that’s totally contained, and you walk up a ramp to the top. There are butterflies flying around, birds, and all kinds of flora and fauna. They also have a full aquarium underneath the museum, where you can see jellyfish and all different kinds of local California fish. As we saw just a moment ago, there’s even an albino alligator. There are also exhibits on California’s climate, culture, and history.
It’s a full service destination, too. They have a great cafe and cafeteria area and the Terrace Cafe, which is a bit fancier and upscale. There’s a Wonderwoods area where kids can run around outdoors.
Overall, it’s just a great museum. One of the other really nice things about it is that it’s open 365 days per year. So even if you want to go on Christmas and you’re visiting over the holidays, you can go to the California Academy of Sciences every single day. Awesome, awesome science museum in San Francisco.
