The Best Business Hotel in Walnut Creek, California: Embassy Suites Traveler Review

Whether you’re looking for a comfortable stay during a business trip, a family vacation, or a staycation, the Embassy Suites Hotel in Walnut Creek, California, is your perfect choice.
Situated right next to the Pleasant Hill BART Station, this hotel provides an exceptional lodging experience with easy access to San Francisco and its surrounding areas.

It’s a great choice if you’re looking for an inexpensive hotel to stay in that still provides easy access to San Francisco via BART. Prices vary, but I’ve seen the Embassy Suites priced at half the cost of expensive downtown SF hotels!
I recently visited and stayed the night to check the Embassy Suites in Walnut Creek out. Here are my thoughts.
A Warm Welcome: The Lobby and Suites
Upon entering the recently renovated lobby, you’ll be captivated by the dramatic interior atrium that showcases multiple levels of rooms.

Each suite is designed to provide comfort and functionality, featuring a kitchenette area with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, although there is no stove available.

While the rooms may not feel as modern as the inviting lobby, they are spacious, offer separate living areas with a sofa bed, and provide a comfortable stay.

When I stayed, I had a two queen bed suite with two separate rooms.

It provided plenty of space, and I could see using the desk in the main area for work. Although I think the Embassy Suites is ideal as a business hotel, it would also make a good place to stay for families with kids.

Amenities Galore: Fitness, Pool, and More
Embassy Suites in Walnut Creek ensures that your stay is packed with great amenities. Guests can enjoy:
Fitness Center
The hotel offers a well-equipped fitness center with basic machines, weights, and cardio equipment, conveniently located off the lobby.
Indoor Pool and Hot Tub
An indoor pool and hot tub are available for guests, rare features for hotels in Walnut Creek. Although relatively small, they are perfect for a relaxing dip or soothing soak, especially during the winter months.

Proximity to BART Station
The hotel is just a two-minute walk away from the Pleasant Hill BART Station, providing easy access to San Francisco and the surrounding area. You can see BART trains out your windows, but good soundproofing ensures that you can’t hear them.

Complimentary Evening Reception
Guests can unwind and socialize with complimentary drinks and snacks at the evening reception, held daily in the atrium area.
Free Breakfast: Fuel Up for the Day
One of the most popular features of the Embassy Suites is its fantastic free breakfast, located in the lobby. The buffet includes cook-to-order items like omelettes and French toast, as well as a variety of hot and cold options such as bacon, sausage, pastries, and fresh fruit. Coffee enthusiasts will also appreciate the Starbucks coffee available to start their day right.
On-Site Dining: Enjoy a Delicious Meal

The hotel features an on-site restaurant, serving a diverse range of delectable dishes for lunch and dinner. In addition, the bar area in the lobby provides an excellent spot for enjoying a drink and unwinding after a long day of work or sightseeing.
Strategic Location: Business District and Nearby Attractions
The Embassy Suites Hotel in Walnut Creek is situated within the Contra Costa Center business district (although not right by downtown), with numerous restaurants and shops nearby.
Parada restaurant, a local favorite, is just a short walk away if you prefer dining outside the hotel. The hotel’s close proximity to Treat Towers and its location a 5 minute drive from downtown Walnut Creek makes it an even more attractive option for business travelers and tourists alike.

The BART is a 45-minute ride to San Francisco, offering easy access to the city for business meetings or leisurely excursions. Again, that makes it a great choice if you want to stay outside pricey San Francisco, but still have easy access to the city.
Conclusion: An Exceptional Stay in Walnut Creek
Overall, the Embassy Suites Hotel in Walnut Creek is an outstanding choice for a business trip, family vacation, or staycation. With its strategic location, spacious suites, and excellent amenities, your stay is bound to be enjoyable and memorable.

Let’s take a look at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Walnut Creek, California. This is right by the Pleasant Hill BART station. I stayed there recently – it’s a really nice hotel to stay at for a business trip. If you want to stay there and commute into the city, or for a group, or even just for a little staycation, you can see the lobby has been recently renovated. They’ve got a restaurant down there, and they have a reception every evening – very dramatic interior Atrium.
We’ve got these multiple levels of rooms. The rooms themselves are all Suites, so they’ve got a little kind of kitchenette area – there’s no stove or anything, but you get a refrigerator. We’ve got these glass elevators riding up, and the kids absolutely love to go up and down, so a good place to stay as a family.
The rooms themselves are fairly spacious, not quite as updated feeling as the lobby, but still nice accommodations in there with multiple spaces. Then it’s right by the BART station, so you can see BART right out the window – it’s about a two-minute walk, and you can take that into the city.
We also have a fitness center and a pool area – there’s a relatively small pool, but it is an indoor pool which is fairly rare for hotels in Walnut Creek, so nice to have that if you’re staying during the winter months. Nice additional amenity there, and they do again have a fitness center with some basic machines right off of the lobby there at the Embassy Suites.
Now one of the things people love about Embassy Suites and certainly true about this one is a fantastic free breakfast in the mornings. There’s a buffet with cook-to-order items – you can get omelettes, you can get French toast and that kind of thing, and you can also get coffee. They have Starbucks Coffee there, which I definitely appreciated first thing in the morning staying there. It’s right in the lobby, and you can come and just get as much of that as you want – again, it’s free and included with the stay.
And then of course all the other items that people love to get at the Embassy Suites breakfast and the bar area is actually very nice at night too. They have a bartender, and you can hang out in the lobby there and enjoy the happy hour. It’s a nice sort of social opportunity if you’re there staying with a group, and the breakfast is great if you’re going to then commute into the city.
So a lot of people love to stay at the Embassy Suites in Walnut Creek and then take the BART into the city. It saves a lot of money versus staying in downtown San Francisco. And again, those add-ons like the breakfast also are going to save you money too.
So the hotel looks fairly plain from the outside, but I think it’s much nicer on the inside than the outside would imply. It’s right there in the business district in Walnut Creek and on the Pleasant Hill border, so there’s a lot of things you can walk to around there. I love Parada restaurant that’s very nearby if you don’t want to eat at the hotel, and you’re in close proximity to treat Towers.
But again, I think one of the best things is if you want to get into San Francisco – you just hop on the BART about 45 minutes ride and you’re there in the city for your business or your travel.
