Give Back to Lafayette; Community Day on June 1 Means Volunteering, BBQ

Lafayette, CA – Mark your calendars for a day of community spirit and service! The 2024 Lafayette Community Day is set to take place on Saturday, June 1st, from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM at The Plaza.

This annual event, organized by the Lafayette Foundation, City, and Chamber, promises a day filled with activities, volunteer opportunities, and celebration.

Event Highlights:

  • Volunteer Projects: Residents are encouraged to sign up for various volunteer projects that cater to different interests and skills. Many projects are family-friendly and within walking distance. Registration for volunteer projects is available online at LafayetteCommunityDay.org, with a deadline of May 24th. Update: The deadline has been extended to May 30!
  • Donation Drives: Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the local Food Bank and gently used clothing for Youth Homes. Donation bins will be conveniently located in The Plaza.
  • LCD Celebration: The event will conclude with a celebration in The Plaza, featuring lunch catered by All the Smoke BBQ live entertainment by a local band, and other fun activities. This is an excellent opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy some good food and music, and celebrate their collective efforts.

  • Mandatory Registration: All participants must register and sign the event waiver before Community Day. This ensures the organizers can plan effectively and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • Major Sponsors: The event is made possible with the support of major sponsors like Republic Services and PG&E, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
