A Unique Lafayette Restaurant Appears to Be for Sale

LAFAYETTE, CALIFORNIA – A unique restaurant in downtown Lafayette appears to be for sale.

Nothing is officially confirmed yet, but we’ve gotten multiple tips and seen multiple listings suggesting that the restaurant may soon change hands.

Pho Benny, the Vietnamese restaurant at 965 Mountain View Drive in downtown Lafayette, appears to be on the market, based on multiple public for-sale listings for a “Vietnamese Pho Restaurant in Lafayette” that closely match the restaurant’s profile.

The listing does not name Pho Benny directly. But the details line up closely: a Lafayette pho restaurant with 50 seats, patio seating, a beer-and-wine license, a walk-in cooler, parking in the back, and a location near shopping.

Pho Benny is unique in that it’s one of the only Vietnamese restaurants in the 925. Japanese and Chinese food are well represented locally, but there are fewer Vietnamese places.

Public Facebook listing snippets describe the business as 1,700 square feet, with claimed annual income of $900,000, rent of $7,500 including NNN, and an asking price listed as $270,000 in one public post and Marketplace listing.

A photo attached the one listing appears to show the inside of Pho Benny, with the adjacent Trader Joe’s parking lot visible through the front window.

The restaurant-for-sale post was shared by Thu Hoai Vo in a Facebook group for restaurants for sale by owner, according to public Facebook snippets and a screenshot reviewed by Bay Area Telegraph.

We’ve also received tips from a local restaurateur, who asked to remain anonymous, and several readers. Those were in response to another article we wrote about a major restaurant in Lafayette that’s on the market. We’re not yet certain whether Pho Benny is the restaurant in that listing, or if two prominent Lafayette spots are on the market!

The apparent Pho Benny listing price appears to vary slightly across public versions. One Facebook snippet shows $270,000, while another public snippet connected to the same seller and Lafayette restaurant-for-sale language shows $280,000.

The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce member directory also lists Pho Benny at 965 Mountain View Drive, with Long Le as the contact, and describes the restaurant as serving traditional pho, spring rolls, banh mi, and more.

Pho Benny opened in 2021 across from Trader Joe’s, according to Beyond the Creek and the City of Lafayette’s Almost Daily Briefing. The Lafayette Chamber later welcomed Pho Benny in 2022, with a public Chamber post referencing “Partners: Corey and Long.”

One Important Caveat

Bay Area Telegraph has not found an official announcement from Pho Benny saying the restaurant is for sale. The public information trail is also not perfectly straightforward: Pho Benny’s website describes Benny Tran as the owner, while the Lafayette Chamber lists Long Le as the business contact, and the for-sale post was shared by Thu Hoai Vo.

Looking at the alcoholic beverage license for the restaurant, though, we can see that it was transferred to a company called Pho Benny LLC in 2025. Thu Hoai Vo is an officer of that company. So that person does appear to be officially linked to the restaurant.

The Restaurant Still Appears to Be Operating

There is no indication in the listing that Pho Benny has closed. We’ve driven by, and it still appears to be going strong.

As we’ve said before, restaurants change hands all the time, and sometimes everything but the owners stays the same.

We’ll know for sure when we either see a change in the ABC license or a public announcement. Make sure to join our free 925 News newsletter so we can keep you updated.
