Cooking perfect potatoes on your gas grill is surprisingly easy. And they're a great side!

You'll need a grill pan, which you can get at most big box stores or online.

Start with a bag of new or "creamer" potatoes--the little ones.

Season them simply with salt, pepper, and a little Italian seasoning

Pop them in the microwave for 7-10 minutes in a microwave-safe bowl.

It might feel like cheating, but it's actually the secret to getting creamy centers with crispy skins.

Spray them with cooking spray to prevent sticking on the grill

Light your grill, set to Medium heat, close the lid, and heat to around 400 degrees F

Put your potatoes into your grill pan. It's okay to have direct heat under them. Close the lid.

Turn your potatoes periodically. Cook until the skins are crisp and a little browned and the insides are creamy.

You can grab a potato and cut it open to check the doneness of the inside.

Pick up the grill pan with oven mits and pour your potatoes into a serving dish.

They're delicious with a little butter or olive oil, and make a perfect side for grilled meat.
