As a local, people often ask me if you need a car to visit San Francisco

No! You definitely don't need a car to visit the City by the Bay. SF is only about 7 miles long, so it's easy to get around.

You can ride BART into the city, and use Muni once you're there. Our famous cable cars are even part of the Muni system.

SF is one of the most bike-friendly US cities. Rent a bike from Blazing Saddles--just check for hills on your route!

You can also rent an electric scooter at the curb. I recommend Lime, which has a license to operate in SF.

Renting a tiny GoCar is a cool way to see the city, too, and they come with a GPS-guided tour.

For a day trip, several tour operators offer bus tours to Napa or Sonoma. It's more fun and safer to do a tour than to drive yourself.
