Local Fire Crews Fight Raging Pickett Fire in Napa

Contra Costa County, CA — Firefighters from across the region, including Contra Costa County Fire Protection District’s Dozer 220 crew, are on the front lines battling the Pickett Fire in Napa County, which has now grown to 6,803 acres and is 13% contained as of Monday morning.

The fire, which began on August 21 around 2:57 p.m. near 2343 Pickett Road, just north of Calistoga, continues to threaten homes and property. CAL FIRE’s Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit is leading the response, supported by Incident Management Team 4.

As of August 23, evacuation orders and warnings were in effect, and approximately 190 residents had been evacuated. Additional fire crews and equipment, including dozers, engines, and air support, are actively working to contain the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
