SAN RAMON — Troubling new details have emerged about a deadly crash on Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon on Saturday afternoon, police say.
According to a community update from the San Ramon Police Department, officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on Crow Canyon Road at about 3:23 pm on November 29. The crash involved a Ford Bronco and a Tesla Model 3.

Police say a 41-year-old woman from Castro Valley who was riding in the Ford Bronco suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The driver of the Bronco was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, treated, and released.

Tesla Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

Investigators now believe the crash was caused by the driver of the Tesla, identified by police as 28-year-old Pleasanton resident Badal Dholaria. Officers say Dholaria is suspected of driving under the influence at the time of the collision.
San Ramon Police say Dholaria was arrested at the scene and later booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. Dholaria is facing allegations of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. All charges will ultimately be decided by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, and Dholaria is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Victim’s Name Withheld
Police are not yet releasing the name of the woman who died, citing respect for her family’s privacy. The department offered condolences to those affected by what it called a tragic incident.
Crow Canyon Road is a heavily used cut-through between San Ramon and the I-680 corridor, and serious crashes there can create major traffic backups as well as emotional impacts for nearby communities.
