Truckee, California is a Lake Tahoe snow paradise in the winter. As a local, here's my advice for the best things to do.

#7. Explore Historic Downtown Truckee. Check out the Jax at the Tracks diner, featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives

#6. Visit the KidZone Museum. It's fully indoors and has tons of activities for babies through pre-teens

#5. Go sledding. Donner Memorial State Park is a popular sledding spot. Grab a sled at any local CVS.

#4. Ice Skate at Northstar Village. They have a great rink, skate rentals, and food/cocktails right by the rink

#3. Go Tubing at Soda Springs. They have hills for little kids, plus a 400 foot hill called Tube Town for adults
