This California Spot is the Most Popular Beach on Instagram, New Report Shows

The Golden State is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the United States, but recent research has revealed that one Californian gem stands above the rest.

According to a study by vacation rental marketplace Florida Rentals, La Jolla Cove in San Diego is the most beautiful beach in the US, topping a list that also features several other California favorites.

The Instagram Hashtag Winner: La Jolla Cove

The study analyzed the number of Instagram hashtags for the most visited beaches in the US and compared this with each beach’s length to determine which beaches had the highest number of hashtags per meter.

La Jolla Cove came out as the clear winner, boasting a staggering 4,257 hashtags per meter. With 366,068 hashtagged Instagram posts and a mere 86 meters in length, this picturesque San Diego beach captured the number one spot in the rankings.

A Top Destination for Beachgoers and Adventure Seekers

La Jolla Cove is not only a haven for sunbathers and beach enthusiasts, but also a hotspot for divers, snorkelers, and swimmers. Its crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life make it a popular choice for those seeking an underwater adventure.

The cove is also part of the La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve, which further adds to its appeal as an environmentally conscious and protected area.

California’s Beaches Dominate the List

The study’s results highlight the beauty of California’s coastline, with five beaches from the state making it to the top ten. In third place, Laguna Beach secured its spot with 1,319 hashtags per meter, thanks to its 3,161,606 hashtagged Instagram posts and a length of 2,397 meters.

Laguna Beach is not only renowned for its natural beauty, but also for hosting numerous festivals, such as the Festival of the Arts, Kelpfest, and Pageant of the Masters.

Venice Beach, another Californian staple, ranked fourth on the list with a hashtags per meter score of 899. As the most popular tourist attraction in Los Angeles and the second most in Southern California (behind Disneyland), Venice Beach had 4,341,671 hashtagged posts on Instagram, with a length of 4,828 meters.

Other California beaches on the list include Manhattan Beach, with 478 hashtags per meter, and Hermosa Beach, with 433 hashtags per meter.

Conclusion

The study’s results confirm what many California residents and visitors already know: the state is blessed with some of the most beautiful and Instagram-worthy beaches in the United States.

La Jolla Cove’s victory as the most beautiful beach in the US is a testament to the exceptional natural beauty that California’s coastline has to offer. Whether you’re a local or planning your next vacation, be sure to add these stunning California beaches to your must-visit list.
