Walnut Creek, CA – Pinstripes, a bepoke bowling alley with high-concept food and bocce courts, is coming soon to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, California. Originally slated to open in 2022, the opening is now scheduled for Spring of 2024. The Bay Area Telegraph visited the construction site.
Occupying the 23,000 square-foot space formerly held by Crate and Barrel, Pinstripes will offer a unique blend of Italian-American cuisine alongside bowling and bocce. This Chicago-based concept, which already operates in 13 locations across nine states, is known for its distinctive approach to combining dining with entertainment.
Dale Schwartz, founder and CEO of Pinstripes, conveyed his enthusiasm about joining the Broadway Plaza, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to creating memorable experiences. “Our iconic venues feed the souls of our guests, young and old. We look forward to creating extraordinary, magical connections in the Walnut Creek community – from the first strike to the first bite, to the first kiss, to the first laugh – that bring out the best in everyone,” Schwartz said.
Broadway Plaza, managed by Macerich, is a notable open-air shopping destination in the East Bay market, featuring a variety of retailers such as Nordstrom, Apple, and a flagship store for Lululemon.
Macerich’s CEO, Tom O’Hern, stated that Pinstripes would complement the diverse offerings at Broadway Plaza, aligning with their strategy of enhancing customer experience with a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment options.
The addition of Pinstripes is part of a broader trend in retail spaces diversifying to include more experiential elements.
