Concord, California, just welcomed a very cool and trendy new ice cream place.
Humphry Slocombe, best known for its hipster ice cream flavors served up in the Mission District and at the East Bay outpost in Berkeley, California, has officially opened its Concord location.
The new location is located in the Veranda Shopping Center, taking over the space that used to be occupied by Pop Bar.
Honestly, we’re pretty sad the Pop Bar isn’t there anymore. When we stopped by to get a popsicle a couple of months ago, we found that the Pop Bar location had closed down, and Humphry Slocombe was announced.
An example of one era ending while also celebrating something new! Even though Pop Bar is gone, it’s nice to see a new ice cream place opening in its stead.
Humphry Slocombe is known for its creative and often bizarre flavors. Their “Secret Breakfast,” for example, is a bourbon and cornflakes-flavored ice cream.
Before, if you wanted to get Humphry Slocombe’s ice cream in the East Bay, you either had to buy it in a grocery store or head to Local Kitchens, which serves it by the pint.
Now, you can go over to the Veranda and get a scoop in the shop. We’re excited about this new offering, even if we still really miss those sprinkle- and chocolate-coated popsicles!
