The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) has unveiled a revamped website, VisitRenoTahoe.com, featuring an AI-powered travel planner designed to offer visitors personalized trip suggestions.
The new platform uses generative AI technology to assist in planning vacations and exploring local activities in the Reno Tahoe area.
The AI travel assistant, powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT and developed in partnership with Matador Network, allows users to create customized itineraries, receive dining and activity recommendations, and adjust travel plans based on real-time data. Mike Larragueta, President and CEO of Reno Tahoe, emphasized the innovation behind the project, which aims to inspire the next generation of travelers.
Visitors can engage with the AI tool by taking a one-minute quiz that matches them to itineraries tailored to personas like Family, Adventure, or Arts & Culture. The website also integrates a visual marketing platform, CrowdRiff, to display user-generated content, enhancing the site’s authenticity and appeal.
