I already love the burgers and French fries at Roam Artisan Burgers in San Ramon, California. They also have a great location at Fiesta Square in Lafayette, California.
Although this restaurant has been serving delicious beef burgers and even fascinating options like bison burgers for years, they’ve just recently introduced an expanded menu that includes items like chicken sandwiches.
In addition to the meat-based items, though, they’ve also introduced some seasonal soups and salads.
A standout new item is the Sweet Potato Bisque.
This is a creamy soup with sweet potatoes as its base. Interestingly, for a chain that mainly focuses on American food, the soup also integrates Thai flavors.
In addition to the sweet potatoes themselves, the soup has makrut lime, red chilies, and coconut cream.
That makes it surprisingly sweet and creamy, with a slight spiciness.
Roam tops the soup with an artful drizzle of coconut cream and fresh herbs.
We stopped by to try out the soup. It was delicious and made a great side to have along with a Heritage Burger.
Yes, there’s a bit of a strong contrast between a burger covered in bacon and a healthy, vegetable-based soup! But combined together, they made for a great meal.
