Big Woof, An Eco-Chic New Dog Store, is Opening Soon in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, CALIFORNIA – A brand-new bespoke dog store is coming soon to downtown Lafayette, California.

Thanks to the readers who wrote to ask what’s opening up next to Sideboard restaurant in downtown Lafayette. We’ve confirmed that the new store will be Big Woof, a luxurious boutique and grooming salon for your four-legged friend.

Big Woof appears to be a new business—they don’t seem to be chained with other locations. From their Instagram, we can see that they’ll be offering things like upscale dog gifts, grooming services, all natural treats, and more.

Their website is hosted by a “green” web host, so it seems like they have a strong eco friendly vibe going on.

They’re leasing quite a large space in downtown Lafayette. It’s possible they’ll also have room for something like an agility course or an environment for dog training.

I stopped by to check out the new location. Signage is up in the windows, but it doesn’t look like the interior build-out has begun.

That means it’ll probably be at least a month until Big Woof opens. The store on the corner—which used to house Hollie’s Homegrown—also appears to have been leased. No word yet on who the tenant is, but we’ve been bugging the property management company to hopefully tell us who’s coming in.

My dog Lance is very excited about these new developments and hopes to be the official Bay Area Telegraph test dog as soon as Big Woof opens its doors.
