The local Walnut Creek, California “No Kings” protest on Saturday reportedly drew a crowd of over 6,800 people, the organizers told the Bay Area Telegraph.

The protest, which was part of a national movement and took place at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, California, was intended to protest the policies of American President Donald Trump.

Although no specific issue was front and center, the organizers suggested that the protest was about issues ranging from trade policy to immigration, arrests, and deportation.

Congressman Mark DeSaulnier spoke at the event, and actors read a life-size version of the Constitution. Sing-alongs of songs like “This Land Is Your Land” capped the rally.

The nationwide rallies also took place in cities like Oakland and San Francisco and were scheduled to coincide with President Donald Trump’s birthday.

Bay Area conservatives had previously voiced their own opinions about similar protests to the Bay Area Telegraph.

By all indications, the Walnut Creek protest appears to have been peaceful, with no arrests reported.
