Video: Inside Walnut Creek’s Brilliant New PiddeG Turkish Restaurant

WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – I recently visited the brand new PiddeG Turkish restaurant in Walnut Creek (2979 Ygnacio Valley Rd, Walnut Creek, CA 94598).

It doesn’t look like much from the outside. But inside, it’s massive, with a brick oven, piles of delicious Turkish delight, and plenty of tables for big groups.

Here’s a look around the inside of the restaurant–and plenty of info on the food–from my visit.

More Photos

PiddeG looks pretty small from outside, with only a few outdoor tables. (All photos are by Thomas Smith/Bay Area Telegraph.)

The inside is huge, though, and there’s a full brick oven in the back.

They specialize in Pidde, which is like a Turkish pizza.

It’s flavorful and the crust is tender–almost like an open faced calzone. I also tried their falafel plate. Quick heads up that while my pidde was tasty, some readers have reported getting pidde that was dry. YMMV.

Their salads are extremely fresh and tasty.

Of course, you have to finish the meal with some Turkish delight and Baklava!

It makes for a fantastic meal!

  1. Tom, go back to pidde g and have the pidde with lamb and beef and then do another review. And if its not good, we just ignore it?
