SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CALIFORNIA – Last week, Starbucks announced that it would close 900 stores and totally renovate 1,000 more in an effort to advance its “Back to Starbucks” initiative, and increase sales.

California has been hit especially hard by the closures. Multiple stores in the Bay Area have already shut down, and more shutdowns are likely on the way.

Starbucks hasn’t officially released a list of closures, which means we need to assemble this from online reports, social media posts from baristas, and good old fashioned phone calls.

Also, some stores are closing permanently, while others are closing to renovate and will reopen. Your best bet is to grab a specific store’s phone number, call, and speak directly to a manager to confirm whether it will remain in business.
