A Brentwood Farm Turns Pumpkins Into Rock Gods

BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA – A farm and pumpkin patch in Brentwood, California, is continuing its yearly tradition of turning rock gods into jauntily decorated pumpkins.

Smith Family Farms in Brentwood—one of our favorite pumpkin patches for 2025—has an annual barn filled with colorful and creative painted pumpkins.

These aren’t carved jack-o’-lanterns, which often degrade in a few days. Instead, they’re beautifully decorated pumpkins capturing all different themes related to the Bay Area and American life.

Each year, they highlight several rock musicians by transforming them into pumpkin characters.

This year, the display features Gene Simmons of the band KISS. Cheerfully rendered in pumpkin form, he looks silly yet ready to rock!

There’s an entire pumpkin band made up of other famous rockers.

In addition to rock ’n’ roll pumpkins, Smith Family Farms has a wide variety of scarecrows and other decorations you can use as the backdrop for your fall photos.
