Antioch, CA – A vehicle belonging to a main participant in a large illegal sideshow has been seized following a joint enforcement operation Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The action comes after CHP and partner agencies disrupted two large-scale sideshows in Antioch involving more than 200 vehicles and roughly 300 spectators. In total, 22 vehicles were initially impounded, and several arrests were made during the operation.
The vehicle seizure is part of an ongoing effort to hold individuals accountable for reckless driving and illegal street activity that endangers public safety, authorities said.
The operation was led by the CHP Golden Gate Division Investigative Services Unit and included support from the Contra Costa CHP, Antioch Police Department, and CHP’s Office of Air Operations.
CHP officials stressed that sideshows are “not just dangerous” but “criminal”, and warned that enforcement actions — including vehicle impounds and arrests — will continue.
No additional details were released about the individuals arrested or the location of the sideshows.
