OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA – A new 2025 wall calendar themed “Oakland Leaves No Crumbs” is bringing together more than 40 East Bay artists, chefs, bakers, stylists and designers—entirely as volunteers—to raise money for immigration legal services.
Organizers say 100% of proceeds will go to Centro Legal de la Raza, the Oakland nonprofit known for immigrants’ rights work and rapid-response support.
Each month in the calendar features a different Oakland restaurant or small food business, with imagery and layouts created by a rotating team of local creatives. The effort is coordinated by the No Crumbs Collective, a new East Bay group focused on “food justice and sovereignty,” which has been previewing the project and taking interest via Instagram.
What they’re saying
Fernando Diaz Mendoza—owner of West Oakland roaster Proyecto Diaz—said he’s proud to be part of a project rooted in the immigrant experience and to support Centro Legal’s work. (Diaz Mendoza and Proyecto Diaz have been active in West Oakland’s small-business revival.)

Photographer Melati Citrawireja added that the team includes people tied to the food world—farmers, food-justice advocates, stylists and service workers—who want to use their skills to help neighbors amid heightened immigration enforcement. Centro Legal’s program pages underline that its attorneys focus on vulnerable community members, including detained individuals in removal proceedings.
Art director Sharmini Subramaniam called the calendar a “labor of love,” meant to showcase East Bay creativity while channeling more funds to immigrant families who keep the region’s food system running.

To kick things off, the No Crumbs Collective plans a public launch event on Saturday, December 13 at Hammerling Wines in West Berkeley (1350 5th St.). Hammerling regularly hosts food-centric community gatherings, and collaborators like Bolita Masa and Good Luck Bakery are slated to serve food during the celebration.

Where to see images and buy the calendar
