DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA – The San Francisco Bay Area is known for its fancy dining, with plenty of Michelin-starred joints.
But that legacy of excellent food also trickles down into more humble, everyday fare.
Case in point: the sandwich. Lots of places are content with two slices of white bread and some deli meat. Not the Bay Area–our sandwiches are loaded with artisan ingredients, local produce, and seasonal sauces.

One local chain does fancy sandwiches and salads better than anyone else. And now, that chain is opening a new restaurant in Dublin, California at Persimmon Place.

The new entrant to the Dublin sandwich market is Mendocino Farms.
The company is now advertising a grand opening for its new Tri-Valley location. We stopped by and took a look at the future spot. And, we have an opening date!

If you’ve been to Mendocino Farms in Walnut Creek or City Center Bishop Ranch, you already know the vibe: sandwiches that lean a little chef-y, salads that eat like meals, plus seasonal specials that rotate in and out.

I’m partial to the Not So Fried Chicken sandwich, which has Mary’s chicken, crunchy pits of fried bread crumbs, and two tasty dipping sauces.
The new Dublin location will open in the former Patxi’s Pizza spot, next to Starbucks and across from Urban Plates. After the sad loss of a planned future IKEA, it’s nice to see new places coming into that part of Dublin.

So when will the new spot arrive? Mendocino Farms says the Dublin store will hold its grand opening on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
They also say that that if you sign up for a My Mendo account and select NorCal-Dublin as your favorite location, you’ll get a free entree reward added to your account on grand opening day (the reward is valid for two weeks after opening day).
