Dublin’s Prominent, Weirdly-Named Outdoors Store Is Closing Forever

DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA – If you’ve driven by Dublin on the highway, you might have seen the signs for an outdoors store with a hilarious frank name.

I always appreciated the lack of marketing or hype of any kind in this place’s name! Sadly, though, it’s now closing forever.

Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff — the long-running Amador Plaza Road store known for its hunting and fishing departments and an indoor public range — is closing in early 2026, according to local reporting and the business’s own website.

What we know so far

The store sits at 6705 Amador Plaza Road, in a high-visibility spot just off the southbound I-680/Dublin Boulevard area. Owners announced during the holiday season that they were calling it quits and retiring.

A firm final day has not been announced. Instead, the store is expected to stay open until inventory is sold down, meaning the last day could shift depending on how quickly items move.

I’m at least glad to hear that the closure is due to retirement. I’m pleased to know that a store with such a delightful name stayed in business for so long!

The indoor range is part of the closure

For many Tri-Valley customers, the bigger loss may be the indoor range. Public indoor ranges are relatively rare in the Bay Area, and the Dublin location has been a go-to for people who wanted a local option without a long drive.

A second closure came first

The Dublin shutdown follows the earlier closure of the business’s sister location in Vacaville, which happened roughly half a year before this latest announcement.

What happens next at the site?

As of this week, there is no public announcement about what will replace the large space. We’ll keep you posted–make sure to join our free 925 News newsletter here.
