LAFAYETTE, CALIFORNIA – It’s been freezing cold every morning here in the 925.

Sometimes literally–a strange weather pattern happening right now means that temperatures start in the 30s and then rise to the 60s later in the day.

That means there’s frost on the ground, and often an ethereal fog in the air each morning.

Earlier this week, I walked the Lafayette Reservoir in the early morning. It was still both foggy and freezing cold, and almost no one was out. The light looked beautiful streaming through the fog as the sun rose.

I captured this shot about halfway along the trail.

The morning sun produces rays of light visible through the fog, and illuminates the branches of a massive tree. The tree casts shadows on the trail, and on the frost-covered grass around it.

Here are a few more shots of the reservoir in the morning:

Let this be your daily reminder that we live in a beautiful place, here in the 925!
