Danville Just Got a Tasty New Sushi Restaurant

DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA – There’s a brand new entrant to the sushi scene in downtown Danville, and locals are excited.

And it comes at a great time. A fire last year forced the closure of the classic Taru Sushi, leaving a big hole in Danville’s sushi offerings.

A new spot has since opened to fill that hole.

Hashiya Sushi & Ramen has appeared at 37 Railroad Avenue in Danville, in Danville Square, with its own website now live, online ordering turned on, and delivery listings showing daily service.

The restaurant describes itself as serving sushi, ramen, teriyaki, udon, nigiri, sashimi, and signature rolls.

The restaurant says it is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The opening appears to be extremely recent. Local retail-and-restaurant site Beyond the Creek reported on April 14 that Hashiya Sushi was expected to open “very soon” in Danville Square, pointing to the restaurant’s newly launched website and menu.

We checked the website, and ordering appears to be live, suggesting that the grand opening has indeed occurred.

Hashiya’s online menu and ordering listings show a pretty broad lineup rather than a narrow sushi-only concept, as in the initial announcements.

In addition to classic and signature rolls, the restaurant lists ramen, udon, bento boxes, poke donburi, nigiri, sashimi plates, tempura, karaage, takoyaki, and higher-end house sets like a kaisendon and omakase-style combo.

Delivery listings also show tonkotsu-based ramen and a full range of appetizers and combination meals.

Where exactly it is

The address places Hashiya in Danville Square, the downtown-adjacent shopping center with Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, The Melt, Rakestraw Books, and other tenants.

That location could make it an easy pickup or casual dinner option for people already doing errands in the center — or for nearby residents looking for a new sushi place without heading out of town. The restaurant lists phone contact at 925-272-2366.

We’ll make sure to stop by and try it out. Join my free 925 News newsletter so I can share a review after I visit.
