SoCal-Inspired Furniture Store Opens at Broadway Plaza
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A rapidly expanding Southern California furniture brand has officially opened its first East Bay showroom at Broadway Plaza.
7th Avenue began welcoming customers on July 18 inside a 1,255-square-foot space at 1233 Broadway Plaza, near the shopping center’s main outdoor plaza. The store is directly across from lululemon and Tesla and steps from Apple, Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn.
The location was previously occupied by the wellness retailer Saje Natural Wellness.

Founded in Los Angeles, 7th Avenue is best known for its contemporary modular sofas, which can be rearranged. The company combines a coastal California appearance and targets homes with kids and pets.
Its big thing are sofas made with water-repellent and stain-resistant fabrics, removable machine-washable covers and sustainably sourced solid-wood frames. Customers can also adjust the firmness of the back cushions, choose from different arm styles and add hidden storage beneath certain seats.
The company has heavily promoted the furniture’s spill resistance with its “Come Spill On Me” slogan — also displayed as a neon sign inside its showrooms. As you can see above, they advertise with things like a person spilling Diet Coke on a couch.

Rather than operating like a traditional furniture warehouse, the new Broadway Plaza location is designed as a smaller, hands-on showroom. Sofas are arranged in living-room-style settings–albeit if your living room had professionally designed lighting and flooring!
Visitors can sit on different configurations, compare fabrics and work with a design consultant to create a layout for their own space, 7th Avenue says. The company recently introduced a thinner arm option intended to provide more seating room in apartments and smaller Bay Area homes.
Appointments are encouraged, although walk-ins are also accepted.
The Walnut Creek showroom is the company’s third Bay Area location, joining existing stores in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood and at Santana Row in San Jose.
It is also 7th Avenue’s first showroom developed in partnership with Macerich, the company that owns Broadway Plaza. Additional locations at Macerich properties are planned for Scottsdale, Arizona, and the Washington, D.C., area later this year.
The Walnut Creek opening brings 7th Avenue’s national showroom count to 22. The company also has locations in Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Denver, Austin, Nashville, Miami, Philadelphia, New York City and several other markets.
Again, 7th Avenue is located at 1233 Broadway Plaza, Space C46. The showroom is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
