MORAGA, CALIFORNIA – Moraga collectors now have a dedicated local shop for sports cards, Pokemon and other trading-card games.
Zen Bros Breaks officially opened August 1 at 354 Park Street, directly beside the Rheem Theatre in the Rheem Valley Shopping Center.
The store carries sports cards, Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering products, including sealed packs and boxes, individual cards and collecting supplies. Displays inside the shop also feature sports memorabilia, while tables give customers a place to sit down, trade cards and play games.
Moraga Mayor Kerry Hillis celebrated the opening, describing the store as a new home base for Lamorinda collectors and thanking Matt and Ben for investing in the town.
The physical storefront may be new, but Zen Bros Breaks had already built a sizable online following. Its Whatnot account had more than 6,000 followers, approximately 11,000 sales and over 1,000 reviews as of mid-August.

The “Breaks” in the store’s name refers to a popular way of buying collectible cards online. Participants purchase spots connected to a particular team, character or category within a sealed box or case. The host then opens the cards during a livestream and distributes them according to the rules of that break.
Zen Bros hosts new breaks each week and streams on Whatnot from Tuesday through Sunday. Its online offerings have included baseball, Formula 1, NASCAR and entertainment cards based on properties such as Stranger Things, Game of Thrones and SpongeBob SquarePants.
For local families, however, one of the biggest additions may simply be the ability to visit a nearby shop, browse cards in person and play or trade with other collectors. Dedicated card stores are relatively scarce in Lamorinda, making Zen Bros an unusual new arrival for Moraga’s retail scene.
Zen Bros Breaks is located at 354 Park Street in Moraga. Current store hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., although customers may want to check the store’s social media before visiting in case the hours change.
