SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – San Francisco chicken finger fans can officially mark their calendars.
Raising Cane’s will open its first San Francisco restaurant on Monday, September 21, at 10 a.m., the company announced. The new location at 211 Jefferson Street sits directly across from the Fisherman’s Wharf sign, a short walk from Pier 39.
And if you’re hoping to score free food, you’ll want to get there well before the doors open.
Opening Day Giveaways
The biggest opening-day prize is the company’s “Lucky 20” drawing, which will award 20 people free Cane’s for a year.
Entries will be accepted from 8 to 9 a.m., with winners drawn starting at 9 a.m. Participants must be at least 13 years old and present to win.
There are also perks for early purchases. The first 100 combos purchased inside the restaurant will come with a Cane’s trucker hat and a card for a free Box Combo on a future visit. The limit is one hat and card per combo purchased, while supplies last.
The first person in line will receive a special gift basket and a welcome from the restaurant’s crew.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for shortly after 9 a.m., with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and local community leaders participating. A live DJ will also be part of the festivities.
A San Francisco-Inspired Restaurant
The new restaurant will bring the chain’s chicken fingers, signature Cane’s Sauce, buttery toast and coleslaw to one of San Francisco’s busiest visitor destinations.
According to the company, the chicken is marinated for at least 24 hours, hand-battered and cooked fresh for each order. Cane’s Sauce is made daily.
Inside, the restaurant’s design draws on its waterfront surroundings, with references to the Golden Gate Bridge, sea lions, Alcatraz and San Francisco Bay. Artwork and decor also acknowledge the Wharf’s Gold Rush history.
“Opening our first San Francisco Restaurant at Fisherman’s Wharf is an incredible milestone for Raising Cane’s,” Chris Zygler, the company’s regional leader of restaurants, said in the announcement.
Raising Cane’s also plans to make a donation to the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District, which supports neighborhood improvements, marketing and economic development.
