PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA — The smell of barbecue will take over a corner of downtown Pleasanton on Sunday, October 18, when SideTrack Bar + Grill brings back SmokeFest for its second year.
The country western-themed celebration runs from noon to 8 p.m. in the restaurant’s tented parking lot at 30 West Angela Street. Admission is free until 4 p.m.; after that, a $10 cover charge applies. Guests can buy food and drink tickets at the door, and seating is first come, first served.
SmokeFest grew out of SideTrack Smoke, the restaurant’s limited-run barbecue menu. For the festival, SideTrack plans to serve brisket, baby back ribs, tri-tip, pulled pork, chicken thighs and sausage.
Diners can build a plate with sides such as mac and cheese and coleslaw, then finish with dessert from Pleasanton’s Primrose Bakery. Beer, wine and specialty cocktails will also be available.
Country rock band Ruff Stock plays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Singo, a music bingo game, follows from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The Wine Steward will offer complimentary wine tasting from 4 to 6 p.m., while a line dancing class led by Christy Duncan Anderson runs from 4 to 5 p.m. Local country, rock and Americana group The Bell Brothers takes the stage at 5 p.m. Two Hat Chicks will sell custom cowboy and trucker hats during the event.
It’s a full weekend of festivities for SideTrack: the restaurant is also hosting Oktoberfest on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17.
