WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – A pink fire engine, adoptable animals, craft beer, and eight kinds of sports activities are coming together for a free fall festival in Walnut Creek.
Shadelands FallFest will take over the grounds of the Shadelands SportsMall on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family-friendly event is open to the community and will feature food trucks, DJ music, giveaways, demonstrations, and free opportunities to try different sports.
For families looking for a Sunday outing that gets the kids moving, there’s a lot on the schedule.

Free Sports Throughout the Festival
According to a press release sent to Bay Area Telegraph, the SportsMall will be open and free throughout the three-hour event, with activities for both kids and adults.
The lineup includes soccer, gymnastics, basketball, golf, taekwondo, batting cages, dance, and volleyball.

That’s a chance to explore a substantial local sports destination. The SportsMall’s website describes the complex as a 227,000-square-foot training center bringing together 12 independently owned sports businesses.
For parents whose kids are curious about a new sport, the festival offers a chance to try an activity before committing to a regular program.
If the event sounds familiar, there’s a reason: the organizers’ event page says it was previously called “Made in the Shade.”

Food Trucks, Calicraft, and Adoptable Animals
The activities extend beyond the sports facilities.
Organizers say Joybound People & Pets will bring shelter animals and its mobile adoption van. Project Pink Wheels’ pink fire engine is also scheduled to appear, along with a Walnut Creek Police Department cruiser and drones.
Local brewery Calicraft Brewing Co. will bring microbrews and spritzers. Food trucks and ice cream are also planned, with a DJ providing music throughout the event.
Shadelands exhibitors, giveaways, and demonstrations round out the lineup. The festival is presented by Shadelands Walnut Creek.
Admission and the advertised sports activities are free. Food and drinks are also on the lineup, but organizers have not advertised those as complimentary, so plan a separate budget for refreshments.
