Inside, they discovered a man and a woman with apparent stab wounds. Officers began providing medical aid before firefighters and paramedics arrived. Despite lifesaving efforts, the woman died at the scene.
The man was taken to a hospital and was listed in critical condition in the department’s Saturday update, Bay City News reported.
Detectives from the department’s Investigations Division took over the case and were conducting interviews and follow-up work. Police said their assessment that no additional suspects were being sought was based on preliminary witness information.
The Saturday statement did not identify either person, describe their relationship or explain how each sustained their injuries. Those circumstances remained unresolved in the information released publicly.
