Wildcare is Back to Saving Animals at a Temporary Location in San Rafael
San Rafael, CA — Starting Monday, September 30, WildCare’s Wildlife Hospital is officially open at its new temporary location near Gallinas Little League Field. The facility, known as “WildCare Transition,” is now accepting injured and orphaned wildlife for care.
Located off Schmidt Lane, just east of North San Pedro Road, WildCare Transition will serve as the hospital’s home for the next two years while a new, permanent facility is built at its original site on Albert Park Lane in central San Rafael. For those needing directions, WildCare provides detailed maps at discoverwildcare.org/transition.
WildCare will also open its Wildlife Education Exhibits to the public at this temporary site starting November 5. Visitors can meet non-releasable wildlife ambassadors and learn about their rescue stories and unique adaptations. Admission is free, and visiting hours will be posted on WildCare’s website.
In the meantime, the organization continues its $24 million Elevate WildCare Capital Campaign to fund the construction of the new facility.
WildCare extends thanks to partner organizations for helping care for wildlife patients during the hospital’s move. For those rescuing injured or orphaned wildlife, WildCare advises calling their hotline at 415-456-7283 before bringing animals to the new transition site.
