A New Costco Opened In Pleasanton and People Are Freaking Out

You’d think Taylor Swift was coming to town, or Apple had just released a new device.

Nope–it turns out a Costco store opened in Pleasanton. Yet despite what sounds like a pretty mundane thing people reportedly flew in from as far away as Hawaii and lined up for days in anticipation of the store opening.

The grand opening featured special promotions for new members. Shoppers who signed up for an annual membership and enrolled in auto-renewal received incentives, including a $40 digital Costco Shop Card for Executive Members or a $20 digital card for Gold Star Business Members. These offers are valid at the new Pleasanton location through December 31, 2024.

Another reason for the lines? Costco is famous for releasing limited edition, fancy liquors at cut rate prices when it opens new store.

The new store promises to deliver the full Costco experience, featuring bulk groceries, electronics, household items, and an on-site food court. And on a regular day, you don’t even need to camp out to visit it!
