72 Year Old Presumed Dead At Sea After Falling Overboard on San Francisco Bound Cruise Ship
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – A 72 year old man is presumed dead at sea after tragically falling overboard on a cruise ship bound for San Francisco.
The incident occurred aboard the Ruby Princess cruise ship during a five-day voyage from San Francisco to Ensenada, Mexico.
The ship returned to San Francisco on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 6:50 a.m., but the passenger, who was traveling alone, was not found on board.
After an extensive review of CCTV footage and multiple searches of the vessel, officials concluded that the man went overboard. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is currently investigating the incident. Princess Cruises has extended condolences to the man’s family and friends.
The Ruby Princess continued its schedule, with remaining passengers disembarking on Monday. The ship is set to depart later that evening on a 16-day cruise to the Hawaiian Islands.
