Kidplex, A Gigantic New Kids Playspace, is Coming to San Ramon

When Playstar Kids closed its kids’ area at the City Center Bishop Ranch shopping center in San Ramon, California, it was a big loss for parents who loved to bring their kids there.

It was nice to stop and get a bubble tea at Boba Guys or coffee at Starbucks and then take your kid to play in the play space that spanned two rooms.

For a while after the closure, there wasn’t a good indoor play space at the shopping center. But that’s about to change with the opening of Kid Plex.

Kid Plex is a gigantic new indoor play space currently under construction at City Center. The Bay Area Telegraph stopped by and took a peek through the windows. Although they’re covered with plastic, we were able to see the construction of a large kids’ play space area and a big row of lockers.

It also looks like maybe there are desks or a coworking space for parents?

Not much is known about Kid Plex beyond that. The store’s website says it will open in December 2024, although that seems ambitious. It’s described as San Ramon’s newest indoor playground.

The Bay Area Telegraph obtained shipping logs indicating that the store received overseas shipments of large play mats and kids’ lockers.

Kid Plex is also already listed on the directory at City Center Bishop Ranch.

There’s no indication yet of exactly when this new play space will open, but when it does, it’ll be a great indoor activity in San Ramon.
