Locals Are Already in Love With Lafayette’s Newest Cafe

Lafayette, CA — Abe’s Cafe is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite in Lafayette, drawing praise from early visitors for its quality coffee, variety of food options, and welcoming atmosphere.

Located smack in the middle of downtown at 3572 Mount Diablo Blvd, Abe’s Cafe opened its doors this August and has already made a strong impression. We immediately told our readers they needed to visit! And it seems ya’ll agree with us! Locals have been sharing their impressions in online reviews and on social media.

Tracey S., a local resident, stopped in for a latte and called it “excellent,” recommending it to anyone who appreciates real coffee.

Rita W., a frequent brunch reviewer from Lafayette, shared that her cappuccino and chicken apple sausage breakfast burrito were standouts—despite a minor issue with avocado skin. She also noted the steak sandwich was “good, but pricey,” and mentioned a hiccup with DoorDash online ordering during her visit.

Still, the clean and spacious interior, outdoor seating, and food quality left her eager to return and try more items like smoothies and chorizo burritos.

The empanadas have emerged as a crowd favorite. Mike K. from Lafayette tried the chorizo and carne asada varieties and found both “very tasty.” Robert F. from Emeryville praised the Argentine empanadas and was equally impressed by the BLT, calling the ingredients “fresh and flavorful.”

Abe’s Cafe opens early—at 7 a.m.—which local Leslie W. appreciated during her morning visit. She described the breakfast croissant as “one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in a while.” Michele A., visiting from Thousand Oaks, also highlighted the welcoming atmosphere and loved her decaf cappuccino and pastry.

The cafe’s warm hospitality, led by Abe himself and a team that’s apparently equally friendly, has made a strong first impression. Marci G. from San Francisco noted the friendly staff and said everything she tried “tasted great.”

With its strong early reviews and a menu that blends comfort and variety, Abe’s Cafe is shaping up to be a new staple in Lafayette. It’s a tough market for smaller, less expensive restaurants, though. Make sure to stop by and show this new cafe some love.
