PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA – Pleasanton’s boba scene just got a new addition with HONI-BEAR. Known for its diverse bubble tea menu, selection of savory snacks and inviting environment, it’s quickly becoming a stop worth checking out.

Located in the heart of downtown Pleasanton at 349 Main St, HONI-BEAR is a small, intimate family-owned shop that specializes in classic tea drinks. This friendly neighborhood store sells bears, plush toys and trinkets that make the space memorable beyond just drinks.

On my visit, I tried two of their best sellers. The Mango Milk with Mango Popping Boba leaned towards the sweeter side, but the combination of creamy tea and bursts of mango flavor from the boba made for a refreshing balance. At a price of $6.50, it falls comfortably within the expected boba shop price point.

The standout was the Puffy Brulee Brown Sugar Latte. While also undeniably sweet, the drink offered a rich caramelized flavor reminiscent of a brulee, with the absence of the burnt sugar on top. It was impeccably creamy, coming to a price of $6.75.

HONI-BEAR’s menu ranges widely, from lemonades and smoothies to matcha lattes and fruit teas. They have a long list of customizable toppings including jellies, popping or honey boba, sea salt foam, coconut cream and their signature puffy brulee. Prices span from $5.50 to $8 and above, offering flexibility whether you want something simple or more loaded.

While some drinks were on the sweeter side, with so many options for adjusting ice, sugar, and toppings, it’s easy to tailor them to your taste. HONI-BEAR stands out for its atmosphere, adding charm to Pleasanton’s Main Street.
