SAN RAMON, CALIFORNIA – Rico Rico Taco — the Oakland taquería known for Mexico City flavors, spit-roasted al pastor, and fresh-pressed tortillas — has signed a lease at City Center Bishop Ranch.

The fast-casual spot will take a 1,464-square-foot space between West Elm and Fieldwork Brewing Company, with an anticipated opening in February 2026. It replaces the former C Casa taco spot.
What to expect

Rico Rico built its following with handmade corn tortillas and trompo-carved al pastor, alongside tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and huarachitos.
Their online menu highlights classics like taco al pastor, carne asada, pollo asado, and veggie options such as hongos and nopal. Expect the same format and price-friendly, order-at-the-counter vibe in San Ramon.

Where it’s landing
City Center’s directory lists Rico Rico Taco as “Coming Soon”; the location sits on the main paseo anchored by Fieldwork’s popular taproom and West Elm’s showroom, a high-traffic stretch for families and weekend crowds.

Why it matters
City Center has been drawing a new wave of food brands and chef-driven concepts as Bishop Ranch evolves from office park to mixed-use neighborhood. Rico Rico’s expansion joins that momentum and brings a neighborhood-favorite, tortilla-first taquería to the Tri-Valley.

In recent coverage, City Center leaders and incoming restaurateurs pointed to strong weekend foot traffic, family amenities, and shared programming as reasons to expand here.
Of course, here at the Bay Area Telegraph, we’ve known that since it opened in 2018! Just saying…
The timeline
Permitting and build-out are underway, with February 2026 targeted for first orders. We’ll update as construction progresses and an opening date is finalized.
