Concord Locked Down Sunday Afternoon After Armed Suspect Reported

CONCORD, CALIFORNIA – A scary incident in Concord led to a lockdown on Sunday afternoon, as an armed suspect reportedly barricaded himself inside at home in the 2500–2600 block of Ward Way near the Diablo Japanese American Club on Treat Blvd.

The alert and lockdown have since been lifted with an All Clear issued.

Here’s what Concord PD says happened:

“On November 23, 2025, at approximately 10:44 a.m., the Concord Police Department responded to a report of an assault with a firearm that occurred at a residence within the City of Concord.

No one was physically injured during that incident. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival and returned to his home in the 2600 block of Ward Way.

Officers responded to that location and confirmed the suspect was inside the residence. Multiple attempts were made to establish communication with him, including phone calls, text messages, and amplified announcements made from patrol vehicle speakers.

The suspect did not respond or exit the home. Officers made entry in the home and found the suspect deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. -586/596″
