Modern Japanese Matcha Cafe Maruwu Seicha Is Coming to Pleasanton

A new modern Japanese matcha cafe is coming to Pleasanton. Maruwu Seicha is opening inside Stoneridge Mall, expanding its Bay Area presence with existing locations in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and San Jose. Signage is already up, and here’s what we know so far.

At Maruwu Seicha’s current locations, the menu serves modern takes on matcha. Drinks range from a classic strawberry matcha to a matcha latte topped with soft serve, fresh taro matcha, and even matcha with Okinawa-style boba.

Desert options include gelato and soft serve made with matcha and Hokkaido milk, as well as cheese tarts featuring flavors such as matcha, Hokkaido cheese, and fresh taro.

What sets Maruwu seicha apart is its matcha, sourced directly from Japan. According to the brand, it’s rich in L-theanine and antioxidants, providing sustained energy without the typical crash.

While an exact opening date hasn’t been confirmed, locals can expect a new spot for Japanese-inspired matcha treats soon.
