Signage is Officially Up For Walnut Creek’s Future Upscale Donut Shop

WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – The East Coast is invading! Well, at least when it comes to donuts, that is.

A popular East Coast donut chain with a very cool (and delicious sounding) combo is about to open shop in Walnut Creek.

We reported on its future arrival before anyone else. But now, we’ve confirmed that signage is up at the upcoming location–a sign that the interior buildout is underway and the store will open reasonably soon.

The shop is Duck Donuts.

Duck Donuts is taking over 2920 North Main Street in Walnut Creek, in the North Main retail strip near the I-680/Treat interchange (right on that Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill edge).

That spot was previously a T-Mobile, and during an earlier visit we noted there was still old signage in the window — so again the new exterior branding is a clear sign that the finish line is getting closer.

So, what is Duck Donuts anyway?

The brand built its reputation on made-to-order cake donuts: you pick a coating, toppings, and drizzle, and they finish it hot — not pulled from a display case.

It’s a cool concept–donuts made as you wait.

When will it actually arrive? Duck Donuts is hiring, so that’s another positive sign. And they say the new store is coming in 2026.

Another clue–the company that installed the sign said in a Facebook post that “Duck Donuts is almost ready to open its doors to hungry donut lovers.”
