SAN RAMON, CALIFORNIA – A burst of color is coming to San Ramon next month as one of the East Bay’s largest Holi celebrations returns to Bishop Ranch.
The family-friendly event will take place on Sunday, April 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. near City Center at Bishop Ranch.
Holi, often called the Festival of Colors, is widely celebrated in India and around the world to mark the arrival of spring and symbolize renewal, joy, and the triumph of good over evil.
At the heart of the celebration is the playful tradition of tossing brightly colored powder into the air and onto friends and family, creating the vibrant scenes Holi is famous for.
Organizers say the San Ramon festival aims to bring that joyful spirit to the East Bay with an event designed to welcome people of all backgrounds.

What to Expect at the Event
This year’s festival includes a mix of cultural performances and interactive experiences, including:
- Complimentary henna art with admission
- Live traditional dance performances
- Energetic Dhol drum performances
- Live DJ entertainment
- Selfie stations for colorful photos
- Holi powder available for purchase
- Food trucks offering meals and snacks for purchase
Because of the powder throwing, attendees often wear white clothing so the colors show up more vividly.

New Location Near City Center
The Holi celebration will take place at a new location this year at 2700 Camino Ramon, across from City Center at Bishop Ranch near the corner of Camino Ramon and Bishop Drive.
The area is expected to fill with music, dancing, and colorful powder clouds as the community gathers to welcome the start of spring.

Admission is $10, while children 10 and under can attend for free. Tickets are available online in advance. Here’s the link.
