Photos: Lafayette’s New Blue Oak Condos Are Finally Complete

LAFAYETTE, CALIFORNIA — Blue Oak, one of Lafayette’s newest downtown condominium projects, has officially arrived at 950 Hough Avenue, adding 20 for-sale homes just steps from the city’s main shopping, dining and BART corridor.

I stopped by to photograph the outside of this new development. I’m hoping to get inside ASAP and see what the units actually look like!

First, here’s some shots of the Blue Oak Condos under construction:

Blue Oak is located at 950 Hough Avenue, just off Lafayette Circle in the downtown core. The city describes the project as a 20-unit, four-story condominium development with three below-market-rate homes.

Its official project tracker lists the site as 0.43 acres, with a total project size of 23,866 square feet, 42 parking spaces, and a 49-foot building height.

The project is being marketed as a luxury, walkable downtown development. Blue Oak’s own website describes it as a 20-unit community in the heart of downtown Lafayette, with access to shops, restaurants, retail amenities and BART within walking distance.

By Bay Area standards, they actually came together very quickly! Those shots were taken in April of 2025, when the building was just plywood.

Now, here’s how it looks today:

A listing from The Grubb Company says homes are available from 926 to 2,569 square feet, with amenities including an outdoor roof deck with fireplace and barbecue, a dining area with bar lounge, fitness center, large lobby entrance and 24-hour video surveillance.

A separate listing site, Livabl, currently shows Blue Oak as selling, with listed pricing ranging from about $1.43 million to $3.55 million, and home sizes from 937 to 2,579 square feet.

One notable part of the project is that three of the 20 homes are below-market-rate units. Compass and The Grubb Company both show at least one BMR listing for Unit 204, with income and resale restrictions and a note that buyers must apply to and qualify with the City of Lafayette.

That BMR unit was listed at $627,835 and shown as pending in early 2026, according to the Compass listing history.

Blue Oak is small compared with some of Lafayette’s larger housing projects, but its location makes it notable. It sits in the downtown core, near Lafayette Circle, Mount Diablo Boulevard, Fiesta Square and the Lafayette BART station.

The city has been emphasizing downtown housing as part of a broader push toward walkable, transit-oriented growth.

Some locals are upset about more density, while others are thrilled to have luxury condos joining the downtown scene. At least Blue Oak has tons of its own parking!
