DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA – A police pursuit in Dublin ended with a crash and a vehicle fire, but no reported injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Dublin office.
CHP described the incident as a “wild chase in Dublin,” saying officers pursued a vehicle that eventually crashed and caught fire. “Thankfully, everyone is safe,” the agency said in a social media post about the incident.
According to reports, the chase happened Saturday, May 2, and ended when the fleeing vehicle crashed and later erupted in flames. Fire crews quickly knocked down the blaze, and the driver was detained at the scene.
CHP said the driver is being booked on suspicion of evading officers and vehicle theft, according to the report. Officials did not immediately release the suspect’s name, the exact crash location, or additional details about what prompted the pursuit.
The incident adds to a string of recent Tri-Valley and East Bay pursuit-related crashes that have raised concerns for drivers and residents.
