Photos: Stunning Sunset Rainbow Seen in Lafayette, California

Last week, we walked outside on Friday evening to a remarkably beautiful site: a rainbow, mixed with a sunset, visible over Lafayette, California.

The colors of the rainbow combined beautifully with the pinks and purples of the setting sun. The rainbow itself formed a full arch, which is rare.

Amazingly, this rainbow formed without any nearby rain. Friday evening was totally dry. There must have been some atmospheric phenomenon behind this, but we have no idea what it was!

The rainbow lingered, too. We saw it for at least 20 minutes, maintaining that perfect shape.

We truly do live in a beautiful place, here in the 925!
