The Lafayette Library & Learning Center is set to host the remaining events in its popular “Art Embraces Words” series, a unique program that brings together local writers and artists to share their work with the community.
The series will be held in the Arts & Science Room at 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA 94549, on select Saturdays in 2024.
Upcoming Events:
- Saturday, August 24 | 2:00 – 3:30 pm
- The event will feature a reading by Lucinda Jackson from her memoir “Project Escape,” along with poetry by award-winning poet Emma Wong and other local writers. Attendees can enjoy a reception on the patio from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, providing an opportunity to mingle with the artists and authors.
- Saturday, October 26 | Halloween Costume Event with Prizes
- This event invites participants to dress as their favorite literary or artistic characters. Emerging writers will present their work surrounded by artwork from local artists, creating an immersive experience where art and literature intertwine. A media table will be available for authors and artists to display and sell their work.
Each session includes introductions by co-chair Linda Hartmann, who will also facilitate a short Q&A session. The program is designed to foster a love of literature and art within the community, providing a platform for local talent to showcase their work.
