After a Generation, Concord’s QZAR Laser Tag Is Closing for Good

It feels strange to write that a laser tag place has been around for a generation. The whole concept feels so space-age and brand new.

But in a blow to fans of the game in Concord, California, the city’s top laser tag place is closing forever after 32 years of operations.

If you grew up in the 925, you might have played laser tag here as a kid. Maybe you bring your own kids to this popular spot.

The laser tag place is Qzar in downtown Concord. In a post on the business’ website, the owners explained the decision to hang up their phasers after 3 decades running the business.

It sounds like the business was supported by a landlord that the owner called “exceptional.” His recent passing may have played a role in the decision to close.

Whatever the reason, Qzar will be missed. Locals already chimed in on social media to express sorrow over the closure.

There’s a bit of good news, though. Qzar Concord doesn’t shut down until August 25.

Translation? There’s still time for one last game!
