This Iconic Pleasant Hill Pizza Place Has an Inflation-Busting Lunch Special

Everything is incredibly expensive in the Bay Area. Walk into a supermarket, and you can expect to spend $200. Even a trip to McDonald’s can cost $30!

That’s why I was excited to discover that a popular and iconic pizza restaurant in Pleasant Hill, California, has introduced a new inflation-busting lunch special.

Zachary’s Pizza is renowned for its Chicago-style deep-dish pizza and its delicious thin crust. They use high-quality ingredients, making it the best Chicago pizza you’ll find west of the Rockies.

I go to Zachary’s often, but the larger pies can get pricey—and they’re a lot of food for one person., even for the small size!

Apparently, Zachary’s felt the same way, because they’ve introduced a new lunch special that’s both a fantastic value and absolutely delicious.

With this special, you can get a personal cheese or pepperoni pizza for around $9. For about $11–$12, you can choose from any of Zachary’s specialty pizzas from their larger menu in a small personal size.

They also come out much faster than a typical Zachary’s order. I ordered a thin-crust pizza, and it was ready in about 10 minutes.

Don’t let the small size fool you—there’s plenty of goodness packed into these pizzas! The pizzas are small, but they’re incredibly filling. My thin-crust pepperoni pizza was more than enough for lunch, and I even had some leftovers to take home.

You can also order stuffed pizzas as part of the lunch special, but be prepared to wait about 30 minutes since the deep dish takes longer to cook. Alternatively, you can call ahead and schedule your order in advance.

With the crazy prices in the Bay Area, it’s refreshing to see at least one restaurant offering a deal that makes things feel a little less insane. A full meal for around $15—with leftovers—is practically unheard of these days!
