Rumors Are Swirling That Original Joes in Walnut Creek Has Finally Chosen an Opening Date

Walnut Creek, California – After months of excited anticipation, rumor has it that the upcoming Original Joe’s restaurant in Walnut Creek has finally chosen an opening date.

We’ve been tracking the story for a long time here at the Bay Area Telegraph. We stopped by the construction site for Original Joe’s back in April and learned that the launch had been delayed from its original spring date.

We’ve followed up closely, and I’ve been in touch with Original Joe’s representatives.

They haven’t yet confirmed an opening date, but rumors are swirling that August 14 will be the first day for Original Joe’s in Walnut Creek.

A reader wrote in to tell the Bay Area Telegraph that they had spoken to front desk staff at the upcoming Original Joe’s Walnut Creek location, and were told that August 14 would be the first date.

We’ve also seen that date posted by locals on an Instagram story shared by Original Joe’s.

Further, when we visited Original Joe’s upcoming location at the end of July, we were told that it would open in about two weeks. That corresponds almost perfectly to the August 14 date.

The restaurant signage is up, and official social media confirms that chefs are hard at work learning the dishes from the menu, and bartenders are already practicing making Original Joe’s cocktails.

We’ve reached out to Original Joe’s representatives to confirm whether the August 14 date is correct (to be fair, we reached out at 6am, so they probably aren’t at their desks yet). But hey, the Bay Area Telegraph keeps weird hours.

Until we hear back, it remains just a rumor! And of course, even if it’s official, dates can change, as locals have seen with the original early 2025 planned launch.
