San Ramon is Sadly Losing Its Flagship Starbucks Cafe

San Ramon’s high-profile Starbucks at City Center Bishop Ranch — 6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd — is closing as part of a nationwide retrenchment by the coffee giant.

Multiple outlets tracking the closures list the City Center location among the California stores slated to shut down, with some Bay Area shops set to close as soon as Sunday.

Starbucks leadership confirmed this week that hundreds of underperforming or no-longer-strategic stores will close while others are remodeled, with the overall number of company-operated North American locations dropping by about 1% this fiscal year.

When is the last day?

Saturday will be the last day for the City Center Bishop Ranch Starbucks. No hours are listed for the store beyond Saturday.

Why this is happening

The closures are part of Starbucks’ “Back to Starbucks” restructuring — a plan to prune weaker stores, refresh others, and reallocate investment. The company says reasons vary by site, from financial performance to lease expirations. Remodels and staffing changes are planned elsewhere in the system. About Starbucks
